Oscar 2020: Elton John Wins His Second Academy Award For ‘Rocketman’ Best Original Song

Oscar 2020: Elton John Wins His Second Academy Award For ‘Rocketman’ Best Original Song.

As expected, Sir Elton John along with his long time musical collaborator and lyricist Bernie Taupin took home the Oscar trophy for “Best Original Song” for ‘(I’m Gonna) Love me Again‘ from the biopic ‘Rocketman’ award at the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony.

The two stars express their deep thanks to all the people involved with ‘Rocketman’ and its star, Taron Egerton. Elton was also deeply moved when he mentioned his twin sons Zachary and Elijah on stage and proudly exclaimed that he loved them. In his acceptance speech, the 72-year-old singer called Bernie “the constant thing in my life“. He also praised Rocketman star Taron Egerton, whose performance was sadly snubbed by the Oscars.

This is the second Oscar statue the Sir Elton John has ever won. Twenty years ago, he and Tim Rice won the first Oscar trophy for ‘Can you feel the love tonight’ from 1994’s The Lion King, and this is the first time he and Taurin have shared an Academy Award. Before that, the duo already took home a Golden Globe for the Rocketman song.
